METHOD OF SELECTING A THERAPEUTIC APPROACH TO PATIENTS WITH MUSCULAR DYSTONIA Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC G01N33/48

Abstract RU 2686083 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely neurology, and can be used in treating patients with muscular dystonia. That is ensured by complex clinical examination of the patient and prescribing botulinotherapy. Prior to injection, 2 ml of venous blood is taken in the patient to determine RCEPM, ASI and NI. One month after the botulinum toxin injection, the RCEPM, ASI and NI are examined, if the obtained RCEPM values are less than 1.00 mcm×cm/V×s, the ASI is more than 0.5 standard units and NI in range greater than 0.15 and less than 0.35 standard units prescribing anxiolytic preparations, and when RCEPM is less than 1.00 mcm×cm/V×s, ASI is lower than 0.45 standard units or NI is higher than or equal to 0.35 standard units prescribing preparations of metabolic action. Three months after the injection, the RCEPM, ASI and NI are examined, if the RCEPM, ASI and NP correspond or approximate as compared to the initial values to a physiological norm and there is no hyperkinesis, then a decision is made to postpone the next injection of botulinum toxin two months later than previously planned.

EFFECT: method enables higher stability of the therapeutic effect and prolongs remission in the patients.
