SUBSTANCE: use in the field of electric engineering for determination of inoperative generator set (GS) in ship electric power stations. According to the method of determining a inoperative GS in parallel operation of several GS, determining a time interval (Δt), during which non-uniformity of loading of generator units exceeds permissible value, its value is compared with specified value (Δtsp), moment is determined, at which non-uniformity of loading of generator sets exceeds permissible value and GS transition is made to motor mode, and if condition Δt ≤ Δtsp is fulfilled, then GS, which passed into motor mode, is determined as inoperative.
