SPACE PROBE Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC B64G4/00

Abstract RU 2686298 C1

FIELD: astronautics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of analysing satellites and planets which produce cold emissions of water-containing volcanic gases, as well as for ground-based experimental development of such probes. Probe (1) placed in the jet of volcanic gases is equipped with a device for increasing its weight in the form of icing cable (2), initially coiled on shaft (4). Rope (2) unfolds as ice (3) is formed from its free end from volcanic water vapour and water droplets and/or due to sticking of microscopic ice particles. Roller (5) can be used during rope unfolding.

EFFECT: technical result consists in more effective action of the icing portion of the probe by reducing (or even excluding) the growth of the gas-dynamic resistance of the probe as the icing proceeds.
