FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: use for diffuse reflection portable spectroscopy. Optical instrument for obtaining a reflection spectrum comprises: a) a means for generating proper light; b) apparatus for transmitting and receiving said light with said substrate, wherein said apparatus is an optical probe made from poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) material, containing exactly two compact PMMA coaxial rods inserted into each other, for gripping and for lighting, inner rod (13) is longer than outer rod (12), inner core (13) is isolated from outer rod (12) by means of semi-reflective insulator (14); c) means for capturing reflected light reflected from depth of substrate by inner rod (13); d) apparatus for separating said diffuse reflected light from specularly reflected light to obtain information on concentration of chromophores in said substrate.

EFFECT: simple manufacture of an optical probe, reduced size thereof, as well as high efficiency and functionality of the optical probe.
