FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to spectrometry. Gate for ion mobility spectrometer comprises three parallel surfaces (13, 11, 12) of electrodes, each of which has electrodes arranged at a distance from each other to allow passage of ions through each surface of electrodes. Gate contains a circuit for application of voltages to three surfaces of the electrode for opening and closing of the gate. Chain is configured to close the gate by applying voltage to surface (11) of first electrode, which is less than voltage on surfaces (13, 12) of third and second electrodes. Besides, it is configured to allow passage of a portion of ions through the gate for a short period of time, wherein the circuit supplies a greater voltage to surface (11) of the first electrode than voltages on surfaces (13, 12) of the third and second electrodes.

EFFECT: smaller dimensions of the spectrometer and easier recognition of different beams.
