FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a material of interpenetrating polymer networks (IPN) containing microcrystalline cellulose (MCC), microfibrillar cellulose (MFC) or a mixture thereof and at least one polymer which forms IPN together with MCC, MFC or a mixture thereof. Invention also relates to a method of producing material based on IPN, and to use of material based on IPN in paper industry. Method of producing material based on interpenetrating polymer networks (IPN) involves i) preparing an aqueous solution containing microcrystalline cellulose (MCC), microfibrillar cellulose (MFC) or mixture thereof and at least one monomer; ii) polymerising on-site use of at least one monomer with formation of IPN together with MCC, MFC or mixture thereof; and iii) obtaining material based on IPN. Monomer is a cationic or anionic monomer.
EFFECT: disclosed is a method of producing material based on interpenetrating polymer networks.
