SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for prototyping three-dimensional items based on polygonal cutting, and can be most effectively used in industrial design both during demonstration, and exploratory modelling, in the manufacture of three-dimensional objects and models for advertising and design and educational purposes. Essence of the invention consists in the fact that creating a prototyping method based on polygonal cutting from a plate material, which includes a polygonal pattern virtual modelled object and assembly of mock-up based on it, characterized by that polygonal pattern is made of plate material, connected polygonal elements of mock-up during assembly are glued from inner side of mock-up with the help of hot-melt glue, and to ensure correct joint of glued elements and shape of glued fragment of mock-up, connected polygonal elements of mock-up to gluing them with the help of hot melt glue are fixed to each other on outer side of mock-up by means of temporary retainers.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is simple and fast assembly of the mock-up when using the polygonal pattern and improved strength characteristics of the mock-up based on the polygonal pattern.
