METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MODELING OF SKIN BURNS WITH HOT LIQUID ON RATS Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC G09B23/28

Abstract RU 2688468 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to experimental medicine, combustiology and pathological physiology. After the general anesthesia with Zolilet 50 solution in dose of 20 mg/kg, wool on the animal's back is shaved off. That is followed by marking the burn area of the preset area using a permanent marker and animal is placed in device for modeling skin burn with hot liquid in rats on independent p. 2 formulas so that center and boundaries of marked area on back match with center and borders of stencil hole. Bottom of the device is immersed into a container with a hot liquid of the specified temperature for a certain period of time, simultaneously determining the area of zone exposed to hot water on skin of the animal in the form of an ellipse. Device for simulating skin burn with hot liquid on rats is made of silicone stencil, handles from woven synthetic cord with diameter of 0.5 cm, poured into mold structure. There is a set of limiters of different diameter from synthetic mosquito net, which are fixed along the perimeter of the stencil hole with the help of sewing metal buttons to the mosquito net poured into the silicone structure, projecting from the stencil hole edges by 0.5 cm.

EFFECT: method and device enable more accurate modeling of skin burns with hot liquid of specified area and depth on rats of different weight, enabling possibility of arbitrary, controlled and easy change of reproduced lesion area.
