FIELD: smoking articles.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a smoking article containing a combustible heat source for heating an aerosol-forming substrate and a component for correcting heat of a combustible heat source. Smoking article having a proximal end and a distal end comprises a combustible heat source located at the distal end of the smoking article; an aerosol-forming substrate downstream of the combustible heat source; a mouthpiece downstream of the aerosol-forming substrate located at the proximal end of the smoking article; and a tubular member configured to move by sliding from a first position towards a distal end of the smoking article into a second position, wherein in second position tubular element at least partially passes above combustible heat source, and wherein tubular member from inside is coated with thermosetting material configured to deform in response to heat from combustible heat source when tubular member is in second position, wherein thermosetting material comprises swelling material.

EFFECT: technical result is creation of stable and reliable means of damping, eliminating possibility of fire.
