FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to fire-resistant aromatic polyether ether ketones. Described is an aromatic fire-resistant polyester ether ketone, characterized by the structure:

where m=25–100. Described also is a method of producing said aromatic fire-resistant polyether ether ketone by high-temperature polycondensation of 3,3',5,5'-tetrabromophenolphthalein and 4,4'-difluorobenzophenone in a medium of N,N-dimethylacetamide at 165 °C with subsequent distillation of water in form of an azeotropic mixture with N,N-dimethylacetamide, characterized by that the stage of using highly toxic chlorobenzene for azeotropic distillation of water is excluded, and at the end of synthesis, the reaction mixture is diluted with N,N-dimethylacetamide, which distilled off during production of aromatic fire-resistant polyether ether ketone, followed by precipitation of the polymer.
EFFECT: obtaining aromatic polyester ether ketones, having high oxygen index values, high mechanical and thermal properties and low water absorption.
