FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, namely to surgery. Surgical implant for treating a hernia comprises a basic structure with a first surface, an absorbable film attached to a first surface of the main structure, a plurality of non-hollow protrusions protruding from the film in a direction away from the main structure; where protrusions comprise a shape defined by a corresponding body and a corresponding head, wherein the body protrudes from the film and ends in the head, and the head projects laterally in relation to the body, wherein projections have such a configuration that to mechanically engage with soft tissues with pressure on the implant. Method of making a surgical implant for treating a hernia is characterized by the following steps. Providing a flexible mold comprising a plurality of cavities, each cavity having the shape of one protrusion. Mold is filled with a fluid medium which forms protrusions and a film. Material of fluid medium is cured. Film is attached to the main structure, at that protrusions are directed from the main structure. Mold is removed.
EFFECT: group of inventions reduces the need for suturing.
