FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to spinodal alloys of copper-nickel-tin. Alloy includes from approximately 14.5 to approximately 15.5 wt. % of nickel, from approximately 7.5 wt. % to approximately 8.5 wt. % of tin and residue - copper. Alloy copper-nickel-tin is subjected to cold mechanical pressure treatment to achieve degree of cold deformation of 5 % to 15 %. Then alloy is subjected to thermal treatment at high temperatures from approximately 450 °F to about 550 °F for a period of time from about 3 hours to about 5 hours. Then, the alloy is successively subjected to cold mechanical treatment with pressure till achievement of cold deformation degree from 4 % to 12 %. Then alloy is additionally heated to high temperature from approximately 700 °F to about 850 °F for a period of time from about 3 minutes to about 12 minutes to relieve tension.
EFFECT: resulting alloy has combination of good formability coefficient and good yield point.
