FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to systems and methods for separating immiscible liquids. Disclosed is a method which includes: provision for the presence of a device for phase separation, which includes a porous membrane having a filtering surface, where the filtering surface has a non-planar configuration, which forms a receiving cavity; placing a mixture of liquids into the receiving cavity of the porous membrane, where the mixture of liquids includes a polar liquid and a non-polar liquid immiscible with each other; wherein filtering surface located along receiving cavity is made so that it prevents flow of polar liquid through filtering surface and does not prevent flow of non-polar liquid inside porous membrane; and possibility of flow of nonpolar liquid into porous membrane; wherein the polar liquid forms a drop inside the receiving cavity, while the nonpolar fluid flows inside the porous membrane.
EFFECT: technical result is providing efficient separation of immiscible liquids.
