FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering and electric power engineering and can be used in electric networks for control of reactive resistance introduced in series in power transmission line in order to control power flows transmitted via the power line. In controlled device of longitudinal compensation for power transmission lines, consisting of reactive element and transformer, primary winding of which is connected to power transmission line, in series with primary winding of transformer there is a reactive element, and parallel to series connection of primary winding of transformer and reactive element includes two identical parallel branches, each of which consists of series connection of two switches, controlled by control system, and outputs of secondary winding of transformer are connected to common connection points of switches in each of parallel branches.
EFFECT: reduced sensitivity of value of reactive resistance of device to spread of its parameters, reduction of its weight and dimensions and cost, as well as expansion of its application areas due to control of value of reactive resistance introduced into power transmission line.
