FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering and electric power industry and can be used in electrical networks in transverse compensation devices for controlling reactive power in order to reduce electrical energy losses and voltage regulation at the places where these devices are installed in electric transmission line (ETL). In the method of controlling the power of a static reactive power compensator operating in a sinusoidal alternating voltage network and containing a series connection of a reactive element and a control device, use the setting of the value generated by the static reactive power compensator, measure the voltage at the input terminals of the static reactive power compensator, calculate the required effective value of the voltage applied to the reactive element corresponding to a given amount of reactive power, use the task of controlling the control device, providing the formation of a voltage on the reactive element with the desired effective value. By controlling the control device, a sinusoidal voltage is generated on the reactive element in the entire power control range of the static reactive power compensator, and the control of the voltage change on the reactive element is carried out at the same moments with respect to the sinusoidal voltage applied to the static compensator of reactive power.
EFFECT: technical result is the improvement of technical and economic indicators of static reactive power compensators.
