FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine. Medical device for tracing an intervention tool tip with the help of an ultrasonic receiver formed on an interventional instrument comprises a conducting body and a sensor. Conductive body has surface. Sensor is conformally formed on this surface. Sensor comprises a piezoelectric polymer, an electrode, a first dielectric layer, a second dielectric layer and a conducting screen. Piezoelectric polymer is formed around part of said surface and repeats contour of said surface. Electrode is formed on top of said piezoelectric polymer and comprises a path connected to said electrode and extending along said conductive body proximally to said electrode. First dielectric layer is formed over the conducting body adjacent to said piezoelectric polymer and extends proximally to said piezoelectric polymer. Second dielectric layer is formed adjacent to said electrode above said path and extends proximally to said electrode. Conducting screen is formed above said second dielectric layer. Method of making a medical device for tracking the tip of an intervention instrument using an ultrasonic receiver formed on an intervention instrument involves conformal formation of a sensor on a conducting body. Conformal formation is carried out by applying a piezoelectric polymer, forming a first dielectric layer, forming an electrode on top of said piezoelectric polymer, forming a second dielectric layer, forming a conductive screen and forming an outer dielectric layer.
EFFECT: providing an apparatus for tracking the tip of an interventional instrument under ultrasonic control by attaching small ultrasonic receivers near the tip of the instrument, as well as using low-profile sensors which do not interfere with the functioning of the device.
