SUBSTANCE: invention relates to telecommunication and can be used to transmit audio broadcast signals in analogue and digital communication channels. To achieve the technical result, the method involves companding not the broadband audio broadcast signal but the Hilbert amplitude envelope selected from it. To increase signal-to-noise ratio not only in pause, but on background of signal, this amplitude envelope is divided into low-frequency, medium-frequency and high-frequency components. Further, these three components are treated in the form of compression at low and medium frequencies and expansion at high frequencies. These three components of the Hilbert amplitude envelope after summation are used to reconstruct the audio broadcast signal by multiplying the processed Hilbert amplitude envelope by the phase cosine signal extracted from the audio signal together with the Hilbert amplitude envelope.
EFFECT: high quality of transmitting audio broadcast signals.
