FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry and can be used in production of luminescent materials for light sources and transducers. Reaction mixture is prepared by mechanical stirring in a planetary mill for 20 minutes of powders of peroxides or oxides of alkali-earth metals, europium (III) oxide, magnesium oxide, manganese (II) oxide, aluminum oxide, aluminum and sodium perchlorate. Then, the process of exothermal interaction of the components of the obtained mixture is carried out in the mode of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis in an open-type reactor at atmospheric pressure in air for 5 minutes. Green glowing luminophore of general formula Me(Mg1-xMnx)Al10O17:Eu2+, where Me is Ba, Sr or Ca, and 0.1≤x≤0.5.

EFFECT: invention simplifies the method of producing the luminophore owing to the use of simple equipment, the absence of external heat supply for the reaction and use of the reducing atmosphere, as well as reducing the time of the process.
