FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry for production of disinfectants. Oxidants are obtained by electrocooling initial solutions of sodium chloride in an anode chamber of a diaphragm electrolysis cell and sodium hydroxide solution in cathode chamber of electrolysis cell with concentration of 1–2 g/l and 3–5 g/l respectively. Treatment is carried out at temperature property 18–30 °C, current intensity 0.9–1.4 A, voltage 37–42 V until reaching pH 8–11 in anolyte and active chlorine content of 150–320 mg/l while passing the specific amount of electricity 0.167–0.344 A⋅h per 1 l of catholyte and anolyte.
EFFECT: disclosed method reduces consumption of NaCl and NaOH when producing oxidants.
