FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of testing optical equipment and is intended for experimental evaluation of technical characteristics of Fourier spectroradiometers in field conditions. Technical effect is achieved due to the fact that gas-filled closed shell is used as compact tight volume, which prevents free propagation of filler gas in turbulent atmosphere of surface layer, using constancy of optical properties of gas-filled closed aerostatic shell to form a given spectral composition of optical radiation simulated test display object at simultaneous exclusion of action of negative factors of turbulent surface atmosphere on change of geometrical parameters of simulated indication object.

EFFECT: technical effect consists in the possibility of conducting experiments to assess the level of technical characteristics of Fourier spectroradiometers or diagnosing their technical state without limiting time parameters which depend on meteorological conditions and laws of distribution of toxic vapours in a turbulent atmosphere, providing constant spectral characteristics of the simulated cloud of contaminated air, as well as wider range of available distances to the test display object.
