FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, specifically to oral care means. Oral care device configured to evaluate a health indicator of the user's gum tissue comprises a force generation module configured to apply a short-term force to the gum tissue by applying a compressed air pulse or a liquid pulse to the gum tissue, sensor configured to receive a plurality of optical signals from gum tissue over time after application of a short-term force, controller configured to quantitatively evaluate, at least in part based on analysis of a plurality of optical signals, gum tissue health, wherein health indicator is at least partially based on time interval required for gum tissue to recover after application of force, and a feedback module configured to provide the user with information on a quantified health indicator. Method is carried out through the device.
EFFECT: use of inventions enables to identify or determine inflammation of tissues and to detect periodontium diseases.
