FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and can be used in power converters. Power converter includes one or more first conversion circuits, one or more second conversion circuits and a controller. First conversion circuit is configured to use a transistor with a slot structure. Second conversion circuit is configured to use a planar transistor. All of said one or more first conversion circuits and all of said one or more second conversion circuits are connected in parallel to each other or are connected in series to each other. Controller stops all of said one or more second conversion circuits and operates at least one of said one or more first conversion circuits, while output value of control command is below preset output threshold. Controller operates all of said one or more first conversion circuits and operates at least one of said one or more second conversion circuits in case output control command exceeds preset threshold output value.
EFFECT: reduction of switching losses.
