FIELD: transportation.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to electrical traction systems of vehicles. Electric power conversion system comprises inverter, voltage converter and controller. Voltage converter includes a high-voltage end connected to a DC source, and a low-voltage end connected to the inverter, switching elements and a throttle. Controller controls switching elements so that voltage of low-voltage end becomes lower than high-voltage in first state. First state when the current flowing to the inverter is less than the threshold current value, and when the power consumed in the driving motor is less than the threshold power value. Controller controls switching elements so that voltage of low-voltage end becomes equal to voltage of high-voltage in second state. Second state when the current flowing to the inverter is greater than the threshold current value, and when the power consumed in the driving motor is greater than the threshold power value. Also disclosed is method of electric power conversion system control.

EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of heat in electric power conversion system.
