FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: electrical power conversion device includes a conversion circuit with several pairs of bidirectionally switched switching elements in the corresponding phases for conversion of input power of alternating-current to alternating-current electrical power. The first switching time is calculated, during which one of the switching elements of the circuit of the upper arm is switched on out of several pairs of the switching elements in one phase; the other switching elements of the circuit of the upper arm are switched off out of several pairs of the switching elements in other phases. At least one switching element of the circuit of the lower arm is switched on out of several pairs of the switching elements in other phases while the other switching elements of the circuit of the lower arm are switched off out of several pairs of the switching elements in one phase. The second switching time is calculated, during which several pairs of switching elements of one phase are switched on, and several pairs of switching elements of the other phases are switched off. The second time is the product of subtraction of the first switching time from time corresponding to the respective half-period of carrier frequency.
EFFECT: preventing commutation failure of switching elements.
