SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering, in particular to methods and devices for frequency synchronization of broadband signal (BBS) in radio communication systems and cellular systems of communication with code division multiple access (CDMA). Method for high-accuracy signal frequency estimation in broadband communication systems includes a two-stage modified procedure for estimating frequency mismatch of input noise and a reference signal using an interpolation algorithm for high-frequency frequency estimation and an operation for adaptive selection of optimum parameters of the synchronization mode taking into account propagation channel properties.

EFFECT: acceleration of transient process to frequency synchronization mode, obtaining accuracy of evaluation and compensation of possible mismatch between carrier frequency of received BBS and frequency of reference signal close to optimal, providing invariance to non-stationary nature of input process and reduction of hardware and software costs.
