FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to gas-discharge engineering and can be used in information display devices on alternating current gas-discharge display panels (GDP). Image frame is divided into odd and even half-frames. Serving initialisation pulses are fed to the first and second electrodes of a pair of display element indication electrodes in the half-frame preparation interval. In the addressing interval of the semi-frames, selective write / erase pulses are transmitted to the control electrodes perpendicular to the indication electrodes and the scanning pulses to the first of the pair of parallel electrodes for displaying display elements of selected lines, and in the semi-frames indication intervals - pulses of the discharge maintenance to the first and the second indication electrodes of the display elements. In the odd half-frame, pulses of the discharge initiation, sweep and discharge maintenance to the odd-rows display elements electrodes are supplied to the electrodes, and in the even half-frame - to the indications of the even-row display elements, wherein none of the indication electrodes is common for the adjacent lines displaying elements.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of reliability of GDP AC control.
