FIELD: printing equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ultraviolet ray hardenable inks for digital piezo jet printers and to a method for production thereof. Ink contains 20–25 wt% of a pigment concentrate consisting of a coloured pigment, a dispersant, a difunctional acrylic monomer and a polymerisation inhibitor, as well as monofunctional acrylic monomers Genomer 1122, ASMO, difunctional acrylic monomers Miramer M222, Sartomer 833S, component for photochemical initiation of radical polymerisation, consisting of a photoinitiator, a photosensitizer, an amine co-initiator and a multifunctional thiol, a polymerisation inhibitor and a wetting surfactant. Ink has Brookfield viscosity of 15–30 cP at 25 °C and surface tension of 30–40 dynes/cm at 25 °C. Method of producing ink involves obtaining a pigment concentrate in a dissolver and grinding it in a vertical bead mill in a circulating mode until a given viscosity value is achieved. Ground pigment concentrate and the remaining components of the ink are dispersed in a high-speed mixing device to obtain a homogeneous dispersion which is then filtered.
EFFECT: proposed ink has high adhesion to different materials with low level of smell and high rate of polymerisation in a narrow range of UV radiation of 385–405 nm.
