FIELD: meteorology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to meteorology and can be used to determine vertical distributions of wind speed and direction. Abstract: Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of helicopter (multi-rotor) type is launched vertically upwards in mode of holding geographic coordinates and orientation, equipped with transducers of inclination, temperature, pressure, humidity and power consumed by engines. Measured are UAV thrust angle, engines consumed power, atmospheric pressure, air temperature and humidity, as well as differential pressure between at least two pairs of points outside zone disturbed by aircraft propellers. Wind speed and direction are determined using relationship between differential pressure and wind speed vector determined with calibration taking into account inclination of thrust vector consumed by power engines, UAV orientation, atmospheric pressure, humidity and temperature.
EFFECT: high accuracy of determining vertical distributions of wind speed and direction, broader functional capabilities.
