FIELD: video surveillance system.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to video monitoring devices and can be used in video surveillance systems, for example, when installed on vehicles, in rooms, on the street. Video monitoring device has a video camera mounted inside the housing, a control unit and an electric drive. Video camera is mounted with the possibility of being moved by means of electric drive from the housing and back. Control unit is connected with electric drive and is configured to change the direction of motion of video camera. Cover is installed on the housing on the side of the video camera output. Cover is installed with possibility of being moved into open position by means of kinematic interaction with video camera during movement of video camera from housing. At that, the cover is pressed to the housing in the closed position when the video camera is placed inside the housing.

EFFECT: video monitoring device is characterized by high manufacturability, repairability and reduced probability of damage to the video camera or contamination of its lens due to its placement inside the closed housing, wherein latent video surveillance is enabled since the housing of the device, first, makes it difficult to identify it as the housing of the video surveillance system of the video surveillance system, and second, enables to use the disclosed device in an autonomous non-volatile mode.
