METHOD OF FIXING AND STORING BIOMATERIAL USING HIGHLY EFFICIENT AND NON-TOXIC REAGENT Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A01N1/00

Abstract RU 2692917 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and concerns technology of fixation and storage of biomaterial using highly efficient and nontoxic reagent. Method for fixing and storing biomaterial involves irrigation of biomaterial with water with subsequent fixation by complete submersion into 10 % water solution of dialdehyde in volume exceeding volume of biomaterial not less than in 10 times, with replacement of reagent on 7, 14 and 21 days each time washing biomaterial after removal of reagent by running water. On 14th day, the reagent is replaced, having the following composition of initial components (wt%): dialdehyde – 24.97 %, distilled water – 74.93 %, eosin K – 0.0032 %, carboxymethyl cellulose – 0.0968 %, with holding the latter in a dialdehyde solution for not less than 12 hours. On 21st day, the reagent is replaced, having the following composition of initial components (wt%): dialdehyde – 24.271 %, distilled water – 72.813 %, eosin K – 0.0031 %, glycerine – 2.9129 %, wherein each time the biomaterial is poured with a reagent, exceeding the biomaterial volume by 10 times, pre-washing it after removal of the reagent with running water.

EFFECT: proposed method for fixation and storage of biomaterial provides longer storage life of organs of any size, and also enables to preserve color and organoleptic properties of soft tissues of preparations.
