FIELD: engines.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines equipped with exhaust gas neutralization systems. Engine control device includes cleaning device, fuel supply unit for unburned fuel supply into cleaning device, control facility. Cleaning device is provided in diesel engine discharge pipeline. Control means comprises a means of obtaining temperature of the cleaning device, a means of estimating the amount of inflowing SOx into the cleaning device, apparatus for evaluating final distribution of adsorbed SOx on a cleaning device, apparatus for estimating the amount of passing SO3 into cleaning device, SO2 reduction recovery rate estimation device in a cleaning device, means of calculating the allowable amount of SO3 for desorption from a cleaning device, means for calculating target temperature. Control means calculates target temperature of catalyst bed when controlling solid particle regeneration in each control period by means of elements M1–M9. Element M7 estimates the amount of passing SO3 in each control period. Element M7 uses amount of inflowing SOx and characteristic temperature. Element M8 estimates SO2 recovery rate, which is the reduction ratio of SO3 to SO2 in the catalyst. Element M9 calculates amount of SO3, permissible for desorption from catalyst, as amount of SO3 permissible for desorption in each control period. Element M9 uses amount of limited SO3, corresponding to restriction on sulfate white smoke, amount of passing SO3 and SO2 reduction rate.

EFFECT: technical result consists in inhibiting tightening control of temperature increase in catalyst and reducing white smoke caused by desorbed SOx.
