FIELD: laser systems.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed laser system is equipped with a laser radiation source that emits light at a fundamental frequency. The emitted light falls on a frequency converter configured to convert a fundamental frequency to a higher harmonic and including at least one frequency conversion stage. The frequency converter is made on the basis of a nonlinear SrB4O7 or PbB4O7 crystal, which provides for the presence of many uniform domains that define a volumetric periodic structure with a corresponding periodically changing polarity of the crystal axis, providing the possibility of using the quantized phase modulation technique.
EFFECT: efficient generation of higher harmonics of laser radiation.
