FIELD: biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biochemistry, particularly to a method of increasing the levels of at least two of PDE10a, DARPP-32, DRD1 and DRD2 in median spinule neurons (MSN) of a human subject or a mouse subject. Method involves introducing a genetic repressor into a stabile body containing a polynucleotide encoding a zinc finger-based DNA-binding protein (ZFP) containing 3 to 6 "zinc finger" domains. Also disclosed is a method of treating Huntington's disease in a human subject or mouse subject, involving increasing levels of at least two of PDE10a, DARPP-32, DRD1 and DRD2 in median spinule neurons (MSN) using said method.
EFFECT: invention enables effective treatment of Huntington's disease in a human subject or a mouse subject.
