SUBSTANCE: non-natural protein with zinc fingers is described which modulates the expression of the endogenous gene β-ketoacyl-ASR-synthetase of the plant (KAS), and the merged protein containing it. The polynucleotide coding the merged protein is presented. The method of modification of one or several genes involved in biosynthesis of fatty acids in the plant cell is described which comprises the use of the merged protein. The plant cell and the plant, and also the posterity of the plant and its seed containing the polynucleotide coding the described merged protein are presented.
