FIELD: radar ranging and radio navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of radar ranging and can be used in systems of amplitude summary-difference monopulse radar. Technical result is achieved by the fact that method of increasing accuracy of determining target bearing angle in system of amplitude total-difference monopulse radar involves determining levels of signals from target at outputs of "total" and "difference" receiving channels and ratio of said levels, wherein test signal supplied to additional antenna input is additionally used. At that, during the system manufacturing process, the ratio of transfer coefficients of passages of the test signal from the additional antenna input to its "total" and "difference" outputs is determined and stored in the antenna. During operation of the system, a signal is sent to the test input of the antenna and the ratio of the values of the test signal levels at the outputs of the "difference" and "total" receiving channels is determined. Correcting the value of the ratio of signal strengths from the target at the outputs of the "total" and "difference" receiving channels of the system by multiplying the said ratio of levels by the product of the value of the ratio of transmission coefficients of channels passing the test signal stored in the antenna to the value of the ratio of the levels of the test signal at the outputs of "difference" and "total" receiving channels of the system determined during operation of the system. Target bearing angle is determined using corrected value of ratio of levels from target at outputs of "total" and "difference" receiving channels of system.
EFFECT: reduced errors when determining target bearing angle and reduced requirements to accuracy of manufacturing and stability of characteristics of channels for passage of "total" and "difference" signals.
