FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technical means for oceanographic and geological investigations, namely to self-contained submersible equipment for monitoring of underwater infrastructure, mapping of marine bioresources, as well as their visualization, for engineering surveys for drilling and construction on the shelf, and in a specific version of implementation can be used in the underwater-equipment complex (UEC) for mapping of objects of the sea bottom and their visual verification. Proposed optical unit of towed device for mapping of objects of sea bottom and their visual verification includes attachment unit, comprising a front base configured to secure therein a front portion of the video camera and four laser target indicators with parallel arrangement of the optical axes of the laser target designators and the video camera, and a rear base configured to secure the rear portion of the video camera. At that bases are fixed between side plates with possibility of angular displacement of bases with video camera and laser target designators fixed in them in plane parallel to side plates. Front base is made in form of clamp, consisting of two detachable elements – half-yokes, when connecting forming central mounting hole for housing front part of video camera housing, wherein each of elements is made with tightening "eyes" for connection of semi-yokes between each other with provision of fixation of video camera in central mounting hole and attachment to side plates and is equipped with two projecting sites with holes and slots for fixation of two laser target designators at equidistant distance from each other.

EFFECT: design of an optical unit which is compact and more reliable in operation, which provides easy replacement of optical elements, their adjustment, accuracy and reliability of fixing parameters of optical survey with simplification of the design of the unit.
