FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology and represents a method for selection of light-loving genotypes of spring wheat, consisting in measurement of photosynthesis intensity of leaves (PI), wherein the measurements are carried out from 9:00 to 11:00 a. m. using a portable gas analyzer LI-6400 XT, the measurement chamber of which is attached to a plant sheet, where the following lighting modes are alternately set in the measuring chamber: low – 300 mcmol/m2s, optimal – 1,000 mcmol/m2s and high – 1,800 mcmol/m2s, for measurement, flag leaves are selected during phase of milk ripeness of grains, wherein light-loving genotypes are genotypes of spring wheat, in which the illumination level is 1,800 mcmol/m2s PI increases by 15 % or more as compared to PI in illumination of 1,000 mcmol/m2s, and at illumination level of 300 mcmol/m2s PI reduced by 50 % or less compared to PI in illumination 1,000 mcmol/m2s.

EFFECT: invention enables high-accuracy and minimal time-consuming assessment of light-loving genotypes of spring wheat and isolating light-loving genotypes of the culture to be included in the selection process of the culture.
