FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to biotechnology and veterinary science and aims at diagnostics of cattle leukemia virus (CLV). Method includes detection stages and genetic typification of CLV. When forming reaction mixtures for real-time polymerase chain reaction for detecting RNA of leukemia virus, a pair of specific oligonucleotide primers is used, complementary to regions flanking a conservative portion of the gp51 gene, and a TaqMan DNA probe completely complementary to the conservative portion: BLVcons-F – CAGGGCCATGGYCACRTATG; BLVcons-R – GCYTGGGAGGCRTTGTCC; BLVcons-probe- FAM-CGAGCCCCGATGCCCTTATGTG-BHQ1, and for genetic typing – a pair of specific primers and two fluorescence-labeled oligonucleotide probes, complementary to RNA alleles of different genotypes of leukemia virus: BLV-F – GGCACCACCCTTCCCAGA; BLV-R – AGARAGATTAACCAGGGAGATAGG; BLV-FAM-T – FAM-TTCAATGTTTCTCAAGGC-BHQ1; BLV-VIC-C – VIC-TCAACGTTTCTCAAGGC-BHQ1.

EFFECT: use of the invention enables higher information value, sensitivity and specificity of detection and genotyping of the CLV RNA fragment, minimizing contamination in the laboratory, as well as provides the possibility of authentically discriminating isolates of Russian strains from other strains.
