SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a sealing compound for coating a surface. Sealant composition is a mixture of a substantially uncured base weight and a curing agent which contains at least one epoxy composition. Base mass contains a base polymer, with a terminal mercapto group, based on polyether, polythioether, polythioether sulphide, polysulphide, copolymers thereof and/or mixtures thereof. Base mass, the curing agent or both contain at least one photoinitiator based on a sterically hindered nitrogen-containing organic base. As a result of action of high-energy actinic radiation, at least one photoinitiator separates at least one radical per molecule, based on a nitrogen-containing organic base, from which a nitrogen-containing organic base is formed, which has a pKa value of conjugated acid, which is approximately 6–30, which acts as active base mass curing catalyst. Present invention also relates to a corresponding method of coating a surface with a sealing compound.
EFFECT: invention provides short curing time and first-class properties, such as high resistance to different media, such as resistance to fuel, to hydraulic fluid, high heat resistance, high plasticity at low temperatures, high elongation to failure and high tensile strength.
