SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to assessment of blood vessel stenosis by comparing haemodynamic properties of a blood vessel stenosis and, in fact, a symmetric other blood vessel in the same body. Method of assessing blood vessel stenosis comprises stages of simultaneous visualization of a first blood vessel and a second blood vessel, determining the haemodynamic properties of the second blood vessel portion corresponding to the first blood vessel portion containing the stenosis, determining the haemodynamic properties of the first blood vessel portion by using the haemodynamic properties model based on the input parameters, including three-dimensional segmentation of image data and data on the structure of the first blood vessel and boundary conditions on the inputs and outputs of the first blood vessel, and in which said input parameters are partially based on properties, derived from the image data of the second blood vessel, generating stenosis data based on the determined haemodynamic properties of the blood vessels, displaying the determined haemodynamic properties with respect to the relative length of the vessel. Method is implemented by a system for assessing the severity of blood vessels in the body. Computer-readable data medium comprises a computer program with software code means for evaluating a blood vessel stenosis, configured to perform computer steps of the method.

EFFECT: using the group of inventions makes it possible to increase the reliability of input data, which are provided to the doctor to determine the severity of stenosis.
