FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: diameter of a stenotic arterial portion and a diameter of its reference portion are measured. The reference arterial portion, a diameter of which is supposed to be measured, is an intact arterial portion nearest to the stenosis. A degree of internal carotid artery (XF) stenosis is determined by original formula in decimal fractions.
EFFECT: method enables providing more accurate both extra-, and intracranial assessment of the degree of internal carotid artery stenosis, and small-diameter vessels by the adequate reflexion of the pathological process and use of the intact arterial portion nearest to the stenosis as a reference.
