FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions can be used for indication and discrete measurement of level of electroconductive and polar liquids with low electric conductivity. Method of measuring the liquid level involves placing electrodes at different height of the reservoir and detecting the presence of potentials on electrode pairs. At the same time electrodes are made from one metal and directly contact with liquid without contact with each other and with reservoir, and calculation of liquid level position is determined by presence of concentration EMF on electrode pairs forming together with measured liquid concentration elements. Device comprises electrically isolated electrodes arranged along height of sealed housing, wherein the housing is made dielectric, and the electrodes are arranged outside the housing and are made in the form of tightly adjacent strips, each of which is electrically connected to the contact element located on the inner wall of the housing, through which by means of wire each electrode is connected to multichannel device, which detects availability of concentration EMF.
EFFECT: high-precision measurement of the level of liquids with high and low electric conductivity in the continuous process mode.
