FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and can be used for assessing the course of partial optic nerve atrophy (PONA) of non-glaucomatous aetiology. In the affected eye, electric lability of the optic nerve (EL), peak systolic VOS and maximum end diastolic VOD blood flow velocity in the orbital artery, as well as peak systolic VCS and maximum end diastolic VCD blood flow velocity in the lateral posterior short ciliary artery. At simultaneous performance of EL conditions≤28 Hz, VOS≤30.0 cm/s, VOD≤8.0 cm/s, VCS≤10.0 cm/s, VCD≤2.0 cm/s shows the course of partial optic atrophy as progressive.
EFFECT: method provides a non-invasive assessment of the clinical course of PONA of non-glaucomatous aetiology by determining the optic nerve EL and blood flow velocity in the orbital artery and the lateral posterior short ciliary artery.
