FIELD: ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: average value of acoustic density (DP) of the parenchyma and ON membranes is determined 3 mm from the center of OD and the indicators of maximum systolic velocity (V syst) and end diastolic velocity (V diast) of blood flow in the medial and lateral posterior short ciliary arteries (PSCA) are recorded, in case of subnormal decrease of Vsyst and Vdiast by 2 times or more and the average value of DP 133 c.u. and more AION is diagnosed; in case of normal values of blood flow velocity in the PSCA and an average value of DP less than 132 c.u. ON is diagnosed.
EFFECT: invention provides differential diagnosis of AION and ON for timely identification of the cause of the disease and prescription of adequate treatment.
