SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an autostereoscopic display device. Display has a pixel display panel having an array of monochrome pixels or an array of subpixels of different colors, and a species generation apparatus comprising an array of lens elements. Pixels form a hexagonal grid, wherein the lenses are also repeated in the hexagonal grid, wherein a vector p, which relates to a mapping between a pixel array and a lens array, regions in two-dimensional space for given vector are identified p, which give good or bad banding characteristics, wherein regions with better banding characteristics are selected.
EFFECT: invention provides improvement in the image quality.
