FIELD: radio equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and specifically to methods of determining location of a radio-frequency source (RFS), and can be used in navigation, direction-finding, location equipment for location of mobile RFS at arbitrary height, in particular, located on aircraft. At that, the focus of Apollonius circles is the points of arrangement of meters in 3-dimensional space under conditions of imposing a limitation on time spent on determining coordinates RFS. Method is based on reception of radio signals RFS in a given frequency band ΔF by means of N≥5 meters with known coordinates and memorizing N≥5 coordinate-information parameters, in the form of amplitudes of electric field strengths in locations of measuring devices, at that, calculating N-1 coefficients of Apollonius circles, forming N-1 spherical surfaces of position (SSP) RFS, and as coordinates RFS coordinates of the intersection point of N-1 of said SSP RFS.
EFFECT: high-precision method of determining coordinates RFS in space based on use SSP RFS, formed by rotation of Apollo circles around axes connecting corresponding foci.
