SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mass-spectrometry. Ionizing device for ionizing a sample of gaseous fluid medium includes an ioniser configured to provide ion reagents; an ion modifier configured to modify reagent ions; and a reaction region configured to receive modified reagent ions and a sample and combine the sample with the modified reagent ions, to ionise the sample for analysis using a detector configured to identify the substance of interest in the sample.
EFFECT: technical result is possibility of inhibiting formation of undesirable ions and obtaining selected types of ions - products from samples of gaseous fluid medium.
