SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mass-spectrometry. Ion filter for mass spectrometer includes ion modifier; an ion selector configured to select a subset of the ion sample based on their mobility in the gaseous medium; and a controller configured to operate the ion modifier in the first mode to modify ions selected by the ion selector, thereby obtaining daughter ions, as well as configured for operation of the ion modifier in the second mode for outputting ions selected by the ion selector; wherein the ion filter is configured to provide ion output from the ion modifier to the mass spectrometer inlet.
EFFECT: technical result is possibility of creation of stronger electric field acting on ions in drift chamber.
