FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy. Ultrasonic device for degassing of molten metal comprises ultrasonic transducer, at least one ultrasonic sensor connected to transducer, wherein said transducer comprises tip and at least two gas feed channels extending through said transducer and gas feed system including gas inlet, gas flow path via gas feed channels and gas outlets at or near the tip of the sensor. Method for reducing the amount of dissolved gas and/or impurities in a bath of a molten metal comprises placing an ultrasonic device in a bath of molten metal and introduction of blowdown gas into gas supply system and through channels of gas supply into bath of molten metal with speed for each ultrasonic sensor in range from 0.1 to 150 l/minute.
EFFECT: invention can be used for treatment of molten bath during melting of alloys.
