SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of cast metal workpieces with an adjustable grain size. A molten metal conveyor contains a receiving plate that is in contact with molten metal during the transportation of molten metal. The receiving plate runs from an input, at which molten metal enters the receiving plate, to an output, at which molten metal leaves the receiving plate. The molten metal conveyor contains at least one oscillation energy source, which transmits oscillation energy directly to the receiving plate in contact with molten metal.

EFFECT: invention provides the maximization of the speed of casting into ingots, an increase in the resistance to the formation of hot cracks, the minimization of the separation into elements, an improvement of mechanical properties, in particular plasticity, an improvement of final characteristics of processed products and an improvement of characteristics related to filling the mold, as well as a reduction in the porosity of casting alloys.
